Fancy a flutter on the World Cup?

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - World of Sport -

THE World Cup kicks off on Friday and to keep you interested in events in South Africa for the next month we’ve drawn up a sweepstake kit. So why not add to the excitement by getting your colleagues in the office or mates down the pub to join in the fun. It’s so simple to organise. First decide how much you wish to sell the teams for. There are 32 of them so a £5 stake would give you a pot of £160. Then you’ll need to break down the pot in prize money - say £100 to the owner of the winning team, £40 to the runners-up and £10 to each of the losing semi-finalists. A stake of £3 a team would be a £96 pot and that could be distributed as £60 for the winner, £20 for the runners-up and £8 each for the losing semi-finalists. When you’ve decided on how much to charge, cut the teams out in the right-hand colum, place them in a hat and get selling. Don’t forget to keep a record of who draws which team by writing their name in the space provided. Good luck. The final is on Sunday July 11 and below are the latest odds supplied by William Hill.
