Star judges city tal­ent

PETER­BOR­OUGH’S own X-Fac­tor star Ni­cole Lawrence has been an­nounced as a judge for Peter­bor­ough’s Youth Got Tal­ent con­test in Cen­tral Park on the open­ing week­end of the Peter­bor­ough Fes­ti­val.

Ni­cole will be judg­ing the acts per­form­ing in the pre­lim­i­nary round on the June 26 and de­cid­ing which eight acts to send through to the fi­nal round on June 27.

She will then be pick­ing the over­all win­ning act.

The tal­ent show­case will take cen­tre stage at Cen­tral Park where young peo­ple from across Peter­bor­ough will be sing­ing, danc­ing and play­ing in­stru­ments to a va­ri­ety of mu­sic gen­res from clas­si­cal to hip-hop.

The event has been or­gan­ised by Peter­bor­ough City Coun­cil’s young peo­ple’s ser­vice.

Ni­cole said: “There are lots of tal­ented young peo­ple in Peter­bor­ough so I’m ex­pect­ing to have a tough time judg­ing the acts.”

Young peo­ple aged from 13 to 21 who would like to take part in Peter­bor­ough’s Youth Got Tal­ent can still ap­ply.

The dead­line for en­tries is June 18 at 5pm.

Twelve acts, se­lected to per­form in a pre­lim­i­nary round on June 26, will be whit­tled down to eight for the fi­nal round on June 27 and this will take place from 2pm to 4pm.
