Star judges city talent
PETERBOROUGH’S own X-Factor star Nicole Lawrence has been announced as a judge for Peterborough’s Youth Got Talent contest in Central Park on the opening weekend of the Peterborough Festival.
Nicole will be judging the acts performing in the preliminary round on the June 26 and deciding which eight acts to send through to the final round on June 27.
She will then be picking the overall winning act.
The talent showcase will take centre stage at Central Park where young people from across Peterborough will be singing, dancing and playing instruments to a variety of music genres from classical to hip-hop.
The event has been organised by Peterborough City Council’s young people’s service.
Nicole said: “There are lots of talented young people in Peterborough so I’m expecting to have a tough time judging the acts.”
Young people aged from 13 to 21 who would like to take part in Peterborough’s Youth Got Talent can still apply.
The deadline for entries is June 18 at 5pm.
Twelve acts, selected to perform in a preliminary round on June 26, will be whittled down to eight for the final round on June 27 and this will take place from 2pm to 4pm.
