Family challenge inspires teamwork
FAMILIES worked together to tackle various challenges at a special event in Orton Malborne, Peterborough.
Around 11 families came to the Jigsaw Centre, in Herlington, during its first-ever Family Challenge Day last week.
From building a boat with five lollipop sticks, half a paper straw and a paper sail that could travel across a paddling pool to creating a giraffe from three straws and sellotape, the event aimed to give families the opportunity to work as a team together.
The family who scored the most points during the various activities won a family ticket for the Nene Valley Railway and the day was rounded off with a barbecue.
Centre events manager Vanessa Skinner said: “It was a great success. The feedback we have had from parents was that it was nice to be able to work together with children to achieve a result.
“We will definitely look to do more challenges in the future and to get more families involved.”
