Hot weather sparks crime warning

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

WITH the warmer weather upon us police are reminding people to ensure that items in their gardens are kept locked away or secured when left unattended for long periods.

The alarm has been sounded after two incidents in the last week where residents in Elm and Leverington near Wisbech, have had petrol lawnmowers taken from their gardens.

Police say officers have also been called out to properties that have had garden patio furniture taken.

Now police are urging residents to ensure that any items that are of value or at risk of being taken, are stored inside the house, a garage or in a padlocked garden shed.

Officers are also asking people to padlock any access gates to their property in a bid to reduce the risk of valuable items being taken.
