Taking the plunge

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

IF you want to take to the skies over Peterborough, then parachutist John Meacock is your man.

As seen in today’s picture, he would regularly organise skydives and parachute jumps from a flight centre just outside Peterborough.

My records state that John started the Peterborough Parachute Club in 1971, and it is still going strong at its Sibson base.

John was British champion for five years and served for ten years on the British Parachute Association council, including three years as chairman.

Do you have any memories of taking to the skies over Wansford?

Perhaps you were one of John’s first pupils? Maybe you still work with John now?

Any information you have please send it in to me using the contacts below.
