Win­ners to be re­vealed by soap star

EASTEN­DERS star David Proud will make an ap­pear­ance at the Mo­bil­ity Road­show in Peter­bor­ough.

He will be an­nounc­ing the win­ners of the na­tional schools’ Ready, Will­ing and Mo­bile com­pe­ti­tion which in­vited chil­dren to come up with bright ideas that could help dis­abled young peo­ple.

While the road­show takes place at the East of Eng­land Show­ground, in Al­wal­ton, Peter­bor­ough from July 1 to 3, the dis­abled Des­per­a­dos ac­tor’s an­nounce­ment will take place at noon on July 3 to co­in­cide with Na­tional Young Dis­abled Per­sons’ Day.

The star-stud­ded road­show also fea­tures mo­tor rac­ing leg­end Sir Stirling Moss who will of­fi­cially open pro­ceed­ings at 10am on July 1.

And for­mer Eng­land Rugby Union in­ter­na­tional, county crick­eter and broad­caster Alastair Hignell CBE will be there through­out the day on July 2.

Other events lined up for the road­show in­clude a per­for­mance by the Red Wheel­ies scooter for­ma­tion dis­play team and more than 150 ex­hibitors show­cas­ing their lat­est prod­ucts.

There will also be seven new wheel­chair ac­ces­si­ble ve­hi­cle (WAV) launches tak­ing place in the mo­tor­ing arena.
