Builder’s accolade

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Property Today -

ALEADING retirement homes builder has been awarded five stars for customer satisfaction for the fifth year running.

McCarthy & Stone received the accolade in an independent survey by the Home Builders Federation (HBF).

Eight weeks after customers of the firm’s new homes move in, they are asked to rate areas such as service and the quality of their home. From the results, each of the UK’s 15 major housebuilders is then awarded a star rating from one to five.

In the latest results, which cover home completions from October 2008 to September 2009, 93 per cent of its customers said they would recommend McCarthy & Stone and 94 per cent were satisfied with the quality of their home.

Both results place McCarthy & Stone among the top three highest performing major housebuilders in the UK and continue the company’s industry-leading performance as the only housebuilder to receive five stars for five years in a row.

“Being awarded five stars for customer satisfaction for the fifth year running is an amazing achievement and is testament both to our commitment to customer care and the fact our teams on site always go the extra mile to make sure every customer has a positive experience,” said Derek Field, McCarthy & Stone’s director responsible for customer care.

“We understand that the decision to move from the family home, sometimes after many years, can be daunting, so it’s important that our personal service offers help and support every step of the way.

“The nature of our developments means that customer satisfaction is very important to us and we are committed to ensuring our purchasers’ move is a pleasant one and that they are happy in their new home.

“We are always looking for ways in which we can improve the service we offer our residents and have recently incorporated the new Consumer Code for Home Builders (2010) into our Customer Charter which sets out the company’s standards of good practice.”

McCarthy & Stone is currently offering a range of one and twobedroomed apartments across the Midlands,” he said.

All McCarthy & Stone retirement developments are designed to promote an active and independent lifestyle for the over-60s and include facilities such as a residents’ lounge, guest suite, a house manager and a lift. A security entrance system and 24-hour Careline provide peace of mind for both residents and their families and all properties are low maintenance and energy efficient.

The company also offers Assisted Living – developments with an additional range of facilities and support services to help residents retain independence and home ownership.

These include staff on site 24 hours, domestic assistance and a waitress service restaurant. Flexible personal care can also be arranged to meet specific and changing needs.
