HUNTINGDONSHIRE District Council is seeking residents’ views on potential locations for new gypsy and travellers’ sites.

Consultation meetings will be held at the New Community Centre, in Ramsey on June 17 from 2pm to 8pm and Pathfinder House Civic Suite in Huntingdon on July 8 from 2pm to 8pm.

The consultation will put forward sites for public opinion that are either on public land within major development areas or in other areas which have been put forward by private landowners.

It will also consider land identified in the third part of the council’s Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).

The council will use the information included in the SHLAA and comments from the consultation to draft a planning document to allocate enough sites to meet the East of England Regional Spatial Strategy’s targets.

These are that the council provides 46 extra permanent pitches and 10 transit pitches by 2021.
