Specialist firm awarded cathedral security honour
PETERBOROUGH-BASED specialist security company Businesswatch UK security services Ltd has been awarded a contract with Peterborough Cathedral.
The contract is to supply uniformed officers to the cathedral, its staff and the many thousands of annual visitors who are able to enjoy the cathedral safely, and that one of the city’s greatest treasures and tourist attractions remains in its current state.
Managing director Richard Olsen said: “It is a fabulous opportunity for Businesswatch to be working with the cathedral and for us to be supporting what is arguably the showcase attraction with the city.”
He added: “Obviously the cathedral is also a place of worship and we need to respect that and ensure that people are safe and the integrity of the cathedral is maintained at all times.
“We have been passionate, compassionate and extremely diligent, both in what we offered the cathedral in our bespoke security proposals and importantly the officers who are working on this project. They are ambassadors both of the cathedral and Businesswatch and need to be able to assist staff and visitors considerately and courteously while maintaining vigilance to the security of the cathedral.”
sarah Brown from the administrative team at the cathedral added: “Businesswatch delivered a very compelling business case and clearly understood the complexity of operating such a service in an environment like ours.”
sarah added: “Businesswatch had a baptism of fire in that they were responsible for security for the installation of our new bishop, dealing with as diverse a group as the Lords Lieutenant through to our office staff. They did this in a professional and courteous way.”
