Charlie tipped for the top by England legend
A LINCOLNSHIRe youngster has been tipped for future success by england legend Lawrence Dallaglio following a once-in-a-lifetime exclusive training session under the watchful eye of the former england captain. Charlie Penrose-Toms, from Stamford, joined 100 fellow rugby players aged between six and 18 at Twickenham for the Sacla’ National Training Day, courtesy of the Italian Pesto Pioneers, and the england great was impressed by what he saw. Dallaglio said: “The quality of rugby on display today has been fantastic and I’m sure all of the lads will go on to be successful in the game. I hope that I have been able to pass on some of the skills required to reach the very top of the game as well as the core values of rugby – including respect, enjoyment, discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.” Charlie (9), who plays for Stamford, was overjoyed at the experience. He said: “The whole day at Twickenham was absolutely amazing and I really enjoyed it. It was pretty cool to go into the england dressing rooms as well and Lawrence Dallaglio gave us so many good tips. It will be a day that I will never forget.” Sacla’, the Italian Pesto Pioneers, recently announced a ground breaking partnership with the Rugby Football Union to support over 100 grass roots festivals in the UK.
