Bangladeshi group to host summer party in township
HAMPTON residents are invited to attend a community fun day in the township later this summer.
Peterborough Bangladeshi Welfare Association is hosting its annual summer fun day on July 25 at Kurryz restaurant in Stewartby Avenue, Hampton Vale.
The three-hour event will include a variety of games and activities for all the family, as well as a selection of food and drink.
It will be the first time the association, which looks after the interests of Bangladeshi nationals in Peterborough, will have held their party in Hampton Vale.
Secretary of the association, Mohammed Hakim said he hoped as many people as possible would attend the event.
He said: “We are hoping for as many people as possible to come along to the afternoon.
“It is open to everyone in the community, for people of all ages.
“We are planning to have a variety of music, food and games for all the family during the day, so we hope it will be a fantastic occasion.
“Hopefully the weather will be good so we can hold activities outside but there will be plenty of things going on all afternoon.
“We want the whole community to get involved to make it as big as possible.
“We are speaking to city dignitaries including the mayor and MPs at the moment and hope that they will be able to come along as well.”
