PETEROROUGH were nar­rowly beaten in the East­ern Vet­er­ans League Fen­land Di­vi­sion at King’s Lynn, fin­ish­ing sec­ond and just four points be­hind Rys­ton.

The Peter­bor­ough team con­sists of vet­er­ans from any lo­cal clubs and John Her­bert set a Wer­ring­ton Jog­gers club record of 9.15.7 when win­ning the 3000m.

Ricky Huskisson of Nene Val­ley Har­ri­ers com­peted in four events in the Over 50 men’s age group, win­ning the 400m hur­dles and fin­ish­ing sec­ond in the other three.

Hus­band and wife Rod and Wendy Dunn of Peter­bor- ough Ath­letic Club were both win­ners, Rod tak­ing the Over 50 mile walk and Wendy win­ning the Over 45 200m. Vet­er­ans League Cen­tral Di­vi­sion at Cam­bridge.

She set a club vet­eran record when win­ning the pole vault, took two sec­onds off her per­sonal best when third in the 200m and was sec­ond in the triple jump with an­other per­sonal best.

Sue Cahill set a club vet­eran record in the mile walk, as did Wil­liam Bradley in the Over 60 men’s cat­e­gory.

Wayne DuBose recorded three wins in the Over 50 men’s age group, set­ting a sea­son’s best in the pole vault.
