Armed raids in the city
FOUR bookmaker’s have now been hit in Peterborough in just one months.
Both Ladbrokes and Coral have been hit twice and police say bookies are often seen as easy targets as it is assumed they keep a cash on site.
The first incident saw a man armed with a knife rob Ladbrokes, in Four Chimneys Crescent, Hampton Vale, on May .
Armed raiders struck Ladbrokes in Whitmore Road, Whittlesey on June 2. The two robbers threatened staff at 8pm with a knife and what was believed to be a handgun and made off with several hundred pounds in cash,
A man also grabbed some cash straight from a till and fled the scene at the Coral bookmaker’s in Eastfield Road, Peterborough on June 4.
