Warning to drink safely

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - News -

HEALTH chiefs are urging people to drink sensibly during the World Cup.

Dr Lincoln Sargeant, public health consultant at NHS Cambridgeshire, said: “It is very easy for people to get in the routine of regular drinking while watching a game of football without realising that they are putting their health at risk.”

National guidelines recommend men drink no more than three to four units daily, the equivalent of two pints of lager, while women should drink two to three units daily, the equivalent to a large glass of wine.
