DigDeep for a true pioneer

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - The Guide -

DANCE music promoter DigDeep returns to Stamford for a show with a true pioneer of the UK house scene.

DJ Graeme Park will be manning the decks at the Voodoo Lounge tomorrow - so reserve your ticket now.

Graeme grew up in Scotland and after moving to Nottingham worked at Select-aDisc record shop sourcing obscure records that he later played at The Garage club in 1986.

He was soon invited to join M People’s Mike Pickering at the decks of the famous Hacienda club in Manchester, where he played for a decade.

In 1996, Graeme went into daytime radio, but, as Graeme stated: “You can’t compare radio DJing with club DJing. In a club you can judge the response – or lack of response – instantly.

In radio, you have no idea if anyone’s even listening!”

It is this even-tempered yet passionate attitude that sums up the Park ethos.

Graeme continues to DJ all around the world and also remixes for many artists as well as hosting his weekly radio show.

Support on the night comes from residents Steve, Rick, Pat, Andy and Ian and Dr Shrink.

Advance tickets are available for £5 by emailing Patrick.u@ntlworld.com. Doors are from 9pm to 2.30am.
