Arts­mark award for school

ARTIS­TIC pupils are cel­e­brat­ing af­ter their school re­ceived its Arts­mark Sil­ver Award.

St Au­gus­tine’s Church of Eng­land Ju­nior School, in Palmer­ston Road, Wood­ston, Peter­bor­ough was given the award by the Arts Coun­cil Eng­land in recog­ni­tion of the school’s com­mit­ment to and ex­cel­lence in arts ed­u­ca­tion.

It is one of the 1,676 schools in Eng­land to re­ceive the award this year.

Head­teacher Stephen Cox said: “I’m de­lighted the Arts Coun­cil has recog­nised St Au­gus­tine’s dy­namic arts ed­u­ca­tion pro­gramme. Our chil­dren have a real en­thu­si­asm for the arts and are re­ally cre­ative. I’d like to thank all our staff and chil­dren for their hard work in achiev­ing
