Pi­rates give trea­sure to char­ity

YOUNG pi­rates set sail on the Jolly Tod­dle through Mar­ket Deep­ing to raise cash for char­ity.

Around 50 chil­dren from the Tree­tops Day Nurs­ery dressed up as naval rene­gades for the day to em­bark on Barnardo’s Tod­dle Wad­dle.

The chil­dren’s char­ity’s spon­sored walk for tots had a pirate theme this year and the young­sters en­joyed dress­ing up and play­ing in their own pirate ship - the Jolly Tod­dle.

They walked through the cen­tre of the town be­fore head­ing back to search for hid­den trea­sure at the nurs­ery in Bridge Street.

Nurs­ery deputy man­ager Glo­ria Spar­row said: “It was a fan­tas­tic day.

“All the chil­dren had a great time and they loved be­ing pi­rates and had a pirate ship and ev­ery­thing.”
