If there were an award for being surly, sarcastic and abrupt then Anne Robinson would win hands down. The Watchdog presenter has the reputation of being a tough cookie, but her stint as host of Weakest Link has left thousands of people around the country screaming at their televisions as she dishes out insults and disparaging remarks to the contestants, sending them on the ‘walk of shame’ with a caustic ‘Goodbye’. The queen of mean may not be for all tastes but credit where it’s due: thanks to a great format and some unforgettably harsh put downs, Anne has kept the show on air long after others have fallen by the wayside. (The show is still going strong in its 10th year as this offering proves). The format for this winning series is simple: three sets of proud B&B owners throw open their doors hoping to be crowned the best. This final edition features Blackpool joker WilfTaylor and his wife Pat, husband and wife Nick and Georgina Maynard from Dorset, and Somerset eco B&B owners Melvyn and Anne Firmager. In striving to show why their establishment and its location is number one, each confident couple tests the others’ businesses to breaking point. Wilf and Pat have been in the B&B business for 25 years and the three-star Granville is their pride and joy.
