PETERBOROUGH firm GL events Snowdens is making its mark in marquees, and temporary structures, having supplied two major events. Based on Fengate, Snowdens continues to supply to local business and events, but in recent years it has been targeting larger events further afield. Recent contract wins include The Guardians Hay Festival which was held in the Brecon Beacons National Park, and MINT Polo in the Park which was hosted at the Hurlingham Park, Central London.

More than 12,000sq m of softsided and hard-sided frame tents were supplied by Snowdens to the Hay Festival to form the tented village that the event is held within. This was the largest single event contract the firm has won in its 192-year history.

At MINT Polo in the Park it supplied three structures to house VIP hospitality suites and other smaller structures.

Paul Vernon, the event director, said: “GL events Snowdens has provided us with a first class service throughout and we look forward to building a long term relationship with them as the event to goes from strength to strength.” Snowdens was bought out 10 years ago by GL events, Europe’s largest events services company.
