Mayor wants public to come to tea

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk & World Update -

THE city’s mayor is inviting people to come and meet him at an open day to voice their concerns and ideas about Peterborough.

Mayor of Peterborough Cllr Keith Sharp will be at Peterborough Town Hall on Thursday with Mayoress Doris Marchant, from 2pm to 4pm.

They want as many people as possible to join them at the town hall, on Bridge Street, for an afternoon tea event.

It will give people an opportunity to speak to the mayor, who took office in May, hear his views on the city and give opinions of their own.

Cllr Sharp said: “I have said from the beginning that I want to meet as many people as possible in my year as mayor. I have met many new faces in my first few weeks but I hope to meet many more at the open day.

“I hope many people will take the opportunity to join in the event and come along and enjoy afternoon tea.”

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Bella Saltmarsh and her husband and consort Norman Saltmarsh, will also attend the event.
