Pupils cook their way to five a day

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk & World Update -

YOUNGSTERS have been putting their taste buds to work in a blindfolded taste test.

The 30 pupils, aged seven and eight, from Old Fletton Primary School, in London Road, visited the Harvester pub and grill in Alwalton, Peterborough, to work with a chef who taught them about cooking healthy food.

The day included a tour of the kitchen.

Manager of the Harvester Neil Utley said: “The pupils learnt about the origins of the freshly prepared fruits and vegetables in Harvester’s famous Salad Cart and put their taste buds to work for a blind taste test.”

After the practical session, the children got to sample dishes from Harvester’s Young Guest Menu.

They each received a certificate to mark their participation in the event.
