Marshall Jaguar helps mark special birthday
Marshall Jaguar in Peterborough helped put the icing on the cake for a very special 70th birthday surprise when they lent a Jaguar XF as part of the celebration.
Yvonne Blessett had been planning something different for months to mark her husband’s recent birthday.
Instead of opting for something more traditional, she arranged for her Jaguar-enthusiast husband, Danny, to take a tour of the impressive Jaguar assembly plant at Castle Bromwich, in Birmingham.
And when Marshall Jaguar heard what was happening from Jaguar UK bosses they stepped forward with the loan of an XF for the day, so Yvonne and Danny, who live near Bourne in Lincolnshire, could travel in style.
It was also extra emotional for Yvonne because her father helped build Spitfire’s at the factory before he joined the RAF to fight in the Second World War.
Yvonne said: “We managed to keep the birthday surprise secret until the night before. It turned out to be a great day and my thanks go to Marshall Jaguar for all its help for going that extra mile.”
Highlights of the tour included seeing the all-new XJ production line plus the testing area.
Daniel Cooper, general manager at Marshall Jaguar in Peterborough, said: “We were only too glad to help and are delighted that they had such a fantastic time.”
