HUNDREDS of people across Sawtry enjoyed all the fun of the fair as this year’s Sawtry Carnival proved to be another astounding success.

The fun kicked off at lunchtime on Saturday with the annual traditional parade starting at Fen Lane – with a transport theme.

Villages donned costumes featuring all things related to transport, even the Titanic, while others rode along on scooters and trikes.

And after the parade, families enjoyed an afternoon of fun and sunshine in the grounds of the old school hall where there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Youngsters were spotted having a go on canoes and karts, while others admired the display of vintage vehicles and a display from the Wyton Model Railway Club.

There was plenty of food and drink to keep hunger at bay with a hog roast and barbecue.

The annual carnival is organised and run by a small group of volunteers called the Sawtry Carnival Committee and is supported by Sawtry Parish Council.
