Thank you mes­sage for donors

A MOTHER-OF-TWO, saved by a blood trans­fu­sion, has thanked donors in Peter­bor­ough.

Those com­ing to give blood at The Fleet com­plex, Old Flet­ton, on Mon­day met Lucy Rands who sur­vived haem­or­rhag­ing dur­ing a mis­car­riage in 2006 af­ter re­ceiv­ing eight units of blood.

Her visit to the ses­sion was part of World Blood Donor Day.

Mrs Rands said: “I wanted to per­son­ally thank blood donors, as with­out them I would not be here, my chil­dren would be with­out a mother and my hus­band with­out a wife, so on be­half of all of us, thank you for your gen­er­ous gift of life.”
