Volunteers needed to train dogs

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

A NATIONAL charity has put a call out for more volunteers to train dogs to help deaf people in the city.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People need more people to act as ‘dog socialisers’ to help introduce puppies to social situations.

The socialisers take the young pups around city centres and shops to get them used to the hustle and bustle they will face when guiding their eventual owners.

MEP for the East of England Richard Howitt helped take two of the puppies for a walk in Peterborough this week to promote the appeal.

Gill Yeates, fundraiser for the charity said: “We need people who are not in full time work to look after dogs . The dogs need to be introduced to city centres and take part in fortnightly training sessions in Thorney.”
