More than half of the stalls already booked for festival
COMMUNITY groups and charities are being encouraged to book their stall in advance to avoid disappointment for the Whittlesey Festival.
More than half the allotted spaces have now been sold and organisers want to make sure that no-one misses out.
Preparations for the festival, which will take over the town centre on September 12, are gathering momentum and it promises to be an exciting day out for all the family.
Whittlesey Town Councillor Pauline Edge said: “We would like to invite local community groups and charities to get in touch so they can take advantage of the stall space we have.”
Well over 5,000 people came to enjoy the various stalls and attractions at last year’s event and organisers want to top that figure.
From sampling a taste of Italy on the Italian market to listening to the sounds of Scotland during Peterborough Highland Pipe Band’s march through the town’s streets there was something to entertain everyone last year.
To secure a stall at this year’s event people are advise to book in advance by completing and returning a festival booking form.
These forms can be obtained from Fenland District Council’s markets and events team on 01354 622565.
