RE: Defiance over plans to shut Millfield surgery, ET, June 12

Yet again the Millfield area has another blow to the services for its residents.

There is no defence for the health gurus’ decision other than commercial convenience an profit. What seems to be disregarded by these callous decisions is the plight of those who are not able to travel. This particularly impacts on the elderly; those who can manage to walk short distances and those who may be suffering from airborne illnesses – great on a double decker for the one and a half mile journey isn’t it? NHS must stand for Nation Health Stupidity. Never mind, after contaminating a load of people on the No 1 bus they can relax in Cathedral Square and gaze at the fountains.

BRIAN GASCOYNE want to ride. I remember Peterborough District Council was the vanguards of the cycle paths in this town but very little else have ever really been done, surely this must be a catalyst for the city council to move on this and make cycling safer and easier in this town.
