YOUNGSTERS in Peterborough have received free cycle training in a bid to encourage alternative means of travel.
The pupils from Winyates Primary School in Orton Goldhay, were invited to take part in the Bikeability scheme, which was set up by Travelchoice which is part of Peterborough City Council and focuses on increasing active travel.
Assistant headteacher Joanne Tomlins, said: “The children have taken part in bicycle maintenance and checks and road safety. They were really excited.”
Taylor Ibbott (11) said: “I liked learning about different types of roads and how to use our back brake and then our front brake to stop safely.”
