Open day to find out about fostering
POTENTIAL foster carers are invited to an informal open day.
Foster care agency Pathway Care is holding the open day at its Oundle office, in Station Road, for anyone wanting to find out more about what is entailed in being a foster carer.
It will take place on June 23 from 10.30am to 7pm and coffee and refreshments will be available.
Carer Recruitment Officer, Karen Parsons, said: “This really is an informal event so people can pop in without an appointment and talk to our team of qualified social workers about fostering.
“In the UK there is an estimated shortage of 10,000 foster carers and it is very important to address this and to identify households who could consider offering a child a secure and loving home.
“In our experience some of the most successful applicants have been thinking about fostering for years, but have held back from applying for one or a number of reasons.
“We hope that anyone thinking about providing a home for a foster child will come along for a chat.”
