Rural jobs survey
BUSINESSES are being urged to help give the area’s rural economy a boost.
Peterborough City Council has teamed up with the Greater Peterborough Partnership to ask residents and business owners, located in villages around the city, to take part in a survey designed to support efforts to stimulate rural economies.
The survey, which consists of two parts, first asks for residents’ opinions and thoughts on the make-up of local communities. In addition, the survey is seeking information on people’s employment habits, various job opportunities and details on essential in- frastructure to help generate economic growth.
The second part of the extensive survey wants to find out from the owners or managers of businesses, which are located in rural areas, what the obstacles and issues are that they believe prevent the development of rural economies. A spokesman for the council added: “Once the results of the survey have been collated and analysed, the views of the residents will be used to develop a new strategy for rural economies.
