Duke of Glouces­ter to visit War­boys

A VIL­LAGE in Peter­bor­ough will en­joy a royal visit next month. On July 13, HRH The Duke of Glouces­ter will make the trip to War­boys, which was re­cently named Cam­bridgeshire Vil­lage of the Year in the na­tional Calor Vil­lage of the Year com­pe­ti­tion. As part of his busy sched­ule, the Duke will meet some of the res­i­dents whose ini­tia­tive has con­trib­uted to War­boys’ suc­cess and led to it be­ing such an ac­tive com­mu­nity. Chair­man of War­boys Parish Coun­cil, Councillor Stephen Kes­sel said: “We are de­lighted at the visit – this is a trib­ute to all the hard work by so many peo­ple from War­boys.” The oc­ca­sion will be the vil­lage’s first royal visit since King Ge­orge VI and Queen El­iz­a­beth vis­ited RAF War­boys in 1944.
