New Burghley Park pro is someone to look up to

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Classifieds -

BURGHLEY Park members certainly won’t have any trouble looking up to their new head professional, Andy Lavers (right).

Standing a shade over 6ft 6in tall, Lavers beat off 70 other applicants for the coveted role as replacement for Glen Davies who is due to retire at the end of the month.

A former club pro at Bourn and Chiltern Forest Golf Clubs in Cambridgeshire. Lavers has played on the European Tour and wasted no time impressing his new employers by shooting a round of two under par on his first crack at the course.

He said: “I am really looking forward to starting at Burghley and aim to give members a service that is second to none. I played the course in February (when he shot 71) and it was great then and it looks even better now.

“And from July 1 I will be in the shop, on the practice ground and around the course most days and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.”
