A grand World Cup ef­fort for char­ity

KIND-hearted El­ton Furze mem­bers have raised a whop­ping sum for Mul­ti­ple Scle­ro­sis at their an­nual char­ity day.

This year the club de­cided to tar­get their fund-rais­ing ef­forts to­wards the lo­cal branch of the char­ity which is hop­ing to raise funds to re­place their age­ing bus.

And thanks to a World Cup theme in which all teams rep­re­sented one of the 32 coun­tries tak­ing part in South Africa, the princely sum of £1,420 was raised on the day.

Win­ners of the two-ball bet­ter­ball com­pe­ti­tion were course record holder Jamie Hib­bert and his part­ner Aaron Jones, whose score was com­bined with their hid­den part­ners, Calom Burke and James Brack­en­bury, giv­ing the ‘South Kore­ans’ a win­ning to­tal of 88 stable­ford points.
