Walkers all set for Ben Nevis climb
A TEAM of intrepid walkers are set to take on highest peak in the British Isles tomorrow to raise cash for wounded service personnel.
The six-strong group – five of whom are from Peterborough – will climb Ben Nevis in Scotland. They have already raised more than £3,000 for Help for Heroes, a charity they chose as four of the group are former servicemen.
Jason Osborne (29), of Willowbrook Drive, Coates, left the Royal Artillery in 200 . He said: “We’ve done quite a lot of training for it but we haven’t climbed any hills, as there aren’t any around here.
“We are doing the more arduous trip and they are saying it will take us 10 hours to complete. We are really looking forward to it but not the drive up, which is 440 miles.”
