Fun event is seeking to beat crime
LOCAL band The Brays and X-Factor star Nicole Lawrence are among the acts lined up to perform at an event in Peterborough in a bid to tackle crime.
The youth information day will take place in Cathedral Square in a bid to educate young people about the consequences of committing crime.
The Brays will be on stage on July 24 from noon to 1pm.
Other attractions include a climbing wall, graffiti art painting, music mixing decks and the police dog unit will be paying a visit.
Information will also be available about activities and events for young people across the city including football teams, a pool league, martial arts and other sports activities.
Free health checks will also be available.
The event takes place between 10am and 4pm.
The youth information day has been organised by the Stamp Out Retail Theft Every Day (SORTED).
The group which is supported by Peterborough City Council’s young people’s service, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Peterborough Citi Safe radio link and Boots’ store detectives.
