Commuters given a smile

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - 24 -

TRAIN users were left with bright smiles on their faces thanks to a fun initiative by a dental clinic.

To mark National Smile Month, which ran from May 16 to June 16, members of The Orange Pepper Clinic, based in Winslow Road, Netherton, visited Peterborough Railway Station to give passengers advice on brushing teeth and dental health.

This year’s National Smile Month focused on the British Dental Health Foundation’s key messages: brush twice-a-day with fluoride toothpaste, cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks, and visit the dentist regularly.

Dr Nigel Carter, chief executive of the foundation which organises National Smile Month, said: “By promoting good oral healthcare in a fun and imaginative way, we hope to persuade more people of the importance of taking care of their teeth.”
