Asian cul­ture event Glad­stone Com­mu­nity Cen­tre SAM­PLE some East­ern de­light at a free cel­e­bra­tion of Asian cul­ture in Peter­bor­ough this week­end.

Or­gan­ised by Desi Ladies, the event takes place at the Glad­stone Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, from 5pm to 8pm on Sun­day.

The event, in as­so­ci­a­tion with Randall Rootz Com­mu­nity Mu­sic, is be­ing sup­ported by the Greater Peter­bor­ough Part­ner­ship.

Deir Yassin will be host­ing and per­form­ing, and there will be live mu­sic by DMS En­ter­tain­ment, DJ Jaz and DJ Manak.

Other fam­ily en­ter­tain­ment in­cludes henna painters, ha­lal sweets, a book stall, and cloth­ing by An­gel Bling Fashion.

Desi Ladies’ sec­re­tary, Shu­mila Syed, said “We can’t wait for the big day. We have artists com­ing from London, Derby, Not­ting­ham and Peter­bor­ough, they will be sing­ing in Urdu and English.”

Chair­woman Maryam Syed said: “When Randall Rootz asked if we would like to put on an event, we jumped at the chance.

“Mu­sic and arts are a great way to bring peo­ple to­gether and we hope lots of peo­ple will come to this free event.”
