A glorious conspiracy thriller
Glorious 39 (12A) Peterborough Arts Cinema, John Clare Theatre, Peterborough Central Library, Broadway, Thursday GLORIOUS 39 is an old-school conspiracy thriller, played out in the fraught run-up to the Second World War.
It includes dotty aunts and dodgy spies, showbiz starlets and imperilled young firebrands.
There are secret documents in the outhouse and a previously overlooked reel of film footage in which a wild-eyed actor (Hugh Bonneville) points the way to a dark and terrible truth.
Tickets for the 7.30pm show cost £4 for members or £5 for non members, and can be bought on the door of the cinema.
