Net­work date with co-op­er­a­tives

A UNIQUE in­sight into how co­op­er­a­tives work and how they could ben­e­fit lo­cal busi­nesses and com­mu­ni­ties is be­ing of­fered at a net­work­ing event next month.

Anglia Co-op­er­a­tive is host­ing the free net­work­ing ses­sion and buf­fet lunch on July 2 at the Deaf­blind UK Con­fer­ence Cen­tre, in John and Lu­cille Van Geest Place, Cygnet Road, Hampton, Peter­bor­ough.

The day is part of Co- op­er­a­tives Fort­night, and runs from 11am to 2.30pm.

It is de­signed to show how co-op­er­a­tives work – pro­vid­ing a valu­able in­sight for peo­ple think­ing of launch­ing a co­op­er­a­tive, con­vert­ing their ex­ist­ing busi­ness into one, or work­ing with one.

Co-op­er­a­tives are owned by their mem­bers – whether they be cus­tomers, staff or the com­mu­nity.

Anglia Co-op­er­a­tive

has more than 300,000 mem­bers, who en­joy a say in how the busi­ness is run and also get a share of the prof­its.

The event will fea­ture lec­tures and a ques­tion-an­dan­swer ses­sion ahead of the buf­fet lunch, and will be chaired by Anglia Co-op­er­a­tive chief ex­ec­u­tive John Chill­cott.
