Public save Sunshine

A LOCAL girl has been saved by the British public from a humiliating first week eviction from the Big Brother house.

Former King’s School pupil Yvette ‘Sunshine’ Martyn (24), now a medicine student at Leicester University, had been selected as one of the three least popular housemates by her fellow contestants.

Despite strong jeers of “get sunshine out” from the crowd outside the house for the eviction show, the nation spared Sunshine in the public vote.

She and fellow housemate Shabby were preferred to Beyonce lookalike Rachael, who became the first contestant to be thrown out of the house.

It means Sunshine, whose dad lives in Wansford, still has a chance of being crowned the last ever winner of the cult television show when the final series finishes in September.

This series’ winner will join previous notable contestants to determine the ultimate Big Brother champion in a two-week special to mark the show’s departure.

To see how Sunshine celebrated her survival in the house tune in to Big Brother on Channel 4 from 9pm tonight.

SAVED: Yvette Martyn.
