THE HAUNTING OF MOLLY HARTLEY (Icon, cert 15, £15.99)

THIS is a teen horror film that isn’t as scary as The Omen or Rosemary’s Baby but will appeal to the Twilight crowd who like their frights to be slightly bloodless, which isn’t to say that its target audience won’t get some thrills out of it. It stars hunky Chace Crawford from TV hit Gossip Girl, and gorgeous Haley Bennett plays Molly who is haunted by the torment of having been stabbed by her demented mother. Mum may be locked up in an asylum and her dad has enrolled her at a posh new school, but for Molly the nightmares won’t go away, and she is fearful of her forthcoming 18th birthday after her mother proclaimed this was when she would become a servant of the Devil.
