K-Ville (Five, 10pm)
K-Ville follows the work of officers on the beat in New Orleans, just two years after it was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The disaster destroyed many of the flood walls that protected the city and left much of it uninhabitable. Anthony Anderson and Cole Houser star in the new 11-part police drama as NOPD Officers Marlin Boulet andTrevor Cobb, who face an unenviable task; not only do they have to pursue the criminals who seem intent on preventing the city’s recovery, but they must also struggle to put their own lives back together in the wake of the disaster. In this first episode, Boulet and Cobb are on the trail of gunmen targeting fundraising events.
Match of the Day Live: 2010 FIFA World Cup (BBC One, 2.15pm)
Slovenia and England meet at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, along with the goals and talking points in the other 3pm kick-off between USA and Algeria. Matches in the last 16 against the Group D qualifiers await the top two sides, and Fabio Capello will fully expect England to progress, as they have done in each World Cup they have attended since 1958. The teams have met just once, in a friendly at Wembley Stadium in September last year, when goals by Frank Lampard and Jermain Defoe were enough for the hosts to secure a 2-1 victory.
Desperate Housewives (Channel 4, 10pm)
John Barrowman claims he took the role of evil Patrick Logan to prove there was more to him than playingTorchwood’s Captain Jack Harkness and appearing in British light entertainment shows. The jury is still out on whether or not he’s managed to exorcise his image as an ever-smiling singer, dancer and actor - Logan may well be the most devious character to have ever stepped onto Wisteria Lane, but Barrowman’s shining personality is a difficult one to hide. Logan has already shown himself to be a cad of the worst kind (he killed an elderly woman the very first time we saw him!)
Come Dine with Me: Wags Special (Channel 4, 8pm)
ChantelleTagoe, fiancee of Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey, Jude Cisse, wife of French international forward Djibril, Jessica Lawlor, partner of Manchester City’s Stephen Ireland and Nicola T, fiancee of Simon Walton of Crewe Alexandra battle it out for a £1,000 charity prize as they host dinner parties in their homes.
