The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

RESIDENTS are being urged to find out more about the recycling process at a council event starting today.

Recycle Week 2010, which runs until Sunday, will offer residents the chance to find out how the process works with a visit to its Materials Recycling Facility at Fengate.

There they will be able to see how recyclables are sorted and learn more about what materials can be recycled in Peterborough.

Councillor Matthew Lee, deputy leader of the city council, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to find out what happens to their recycling after it is collected.

“Everyone has a part to play in achieving a household recycling rate of 65 per cent by 2020 and these tours will show how important it is.

“Increasing the amount we recycle also adds to Peterborough’s growing reputation as the UK’s environment capital.”
