Foot­ball menus will be a win­ner with pupils

YOUNG­STERS at Peter­bor­ough schools will be sam­pling flavours of the World Cup next Wed­nes­day.

A spe­cial menu has been pre­pared by Peter­bor­ough City Coun­cil’s cater­ing team fea­tur­ing food from each coun­try com­pet­ing in the World Cup. Through­out the tour­na­ment, schools can choose a se­lec­tion from the coun­tries play­ing on that day. So on Wed­nes­day, the menu will fea­ture cui­sine from Eng­land, the USA, Slove­nia, Al­ge­ria, Aus­tralia, Ser­bia, Ghana and Ger­many.

It will be one of a se­ries of 40 spe­cially themed menus to re­flect events through­out the year as well as the school’s cur­ricu­lum. Oth­ers in­clude St Ge­orge’s Day, Valen­tine’s Day, Chi­nese New Year, Wim­ble­don and Comic Re­lief, as well as An­cient Greece and Low Car­bon Day themed menus.
