Panthers sign another Pole to replace Brozowski
PANTHERS have agreed terms to sign another Polish rider.
Norbert Kosciuch will sample British speedway for the first time when making his debut against Belle Vue at the Showground on Friday.
The 26 year-old, a star for First League outfit PSZ Poznan in his homeland, will fill the reserve void left by the sudden departure of fellow countryman Kamil Brozowski.
Brzozowski walked out earlier this month after only three meet- ings for the club in which he had failed to score a point.
Kosciuch is in the top 10 of the individual rankings in the second tier of Polish speedway – ahead of GP regular Magnus Zetterstrom, well-known Elite League star Davey Watt and his new Panthers team-mates Krzysztof Buczkowski and Rory Schlein.
He has been a handy performer since making his debut for hometown club Leszno as a 17 year-old back in 2001.
He suffered badly at the hands of injury in the early part of his career. Kosciuch suffered a split pelvis when colliding with a tractor after being forced onto the centre green during a race at Pila in 2002 and then suffered a broken leg in 2004.
But he has steered clear of injury problems since then and has also caught the eye in the second tier in Sweden where he races for Allsvenskan side Ornarna.
