Panthers have high hopes for new rider
SPEEDWAY: Panthers team boss Trevor Swales has high hopes for latest signing Norbert Kosciuch.
The 26 year-old Polish ace will make his Peterborough debut against Belle Vue at the Showground on Friday – the first part of a crunch play-off double either side of the weekend.
Kosciuch has been drafted in to replace countryman Kamil Brzozowski at reserve. Brzozowski walked out on the club after failing to score a point in three meetings.
But much better things are expected of the new arrival who has shone in his home country this term.
Swales said: “We have been monitoring Norbert’s performances in Poland and have spoken to people over there about him.
“We believe he will be a good signing and he is committed to cracking it over here.
“He will be riding his own equipment and if professionalism equals points, he will score by the bucket-load.”
Panthers then face secondplaced Lakeside Hammers on Monday when the Sky TV cameras make their first visit of the season to the city track.
They could have a run of five successive home meetings with clashes against Poole (Jul 8), Swindon (Jul 16) and Wolverhampton (Jul 22) all confirmed for next month, although an away fixture could be slotted into their schedule.
