Sunshine is saved from public vote
AS the sun shone down on the Big Brother house, city star Sunshine was given a welcome boost.
Former King’s School pupil Yvette Martyn (24), who is also known as Sunshine, will not be up for eviction this Friday.
Sunshine was not one of four housemates nominated yesterday to face eviction on Friday.
However, one of the four nominees, Shabby, was later given the chance to choose another candidate to get the boot from the house after winning the Scooter Slide task.
She chose Mario to face the public vote, meaning Sunshine is safe in the house for another week.
Today, Sunshine’s father Anthony Martyn (67), of Elton Road, Wansford, spoke of his delight.
He said: “I’m very pleased for her. My feeling was that she would be safe this week.”
After a difficult start to life in the house, Anthony believes his daughter is now starting to blossom on the reality TV show.
He added: “I think she’s putting her head into it now. I think there’s a lot of people out there who can identify with her.”
Anthony also revealed Sunshine, who is a medical student at Leicester University, will not be unhappy at missing England’s journey on the football World Cup.
“She’s not interested in the football, or tennis for that matter now Wimbledon has started,” he said.
