Campaign for fair NHS treament
ADULTS with learning disabilities will be raising awareness of charity Mencap’s new campaign in Peterborough today.
They will be promoting ‘Getting It Right’ at Peterborough District Hospital, in Thorpe Road and Edith Cavell Hospital, at Bretton, as part of National Learning Disability Week.
They will be manning stands from 10am to 2pm promoting the campaign, which calls for people with learning disabilities to get the right healthcare and equal treatment from the NHS.
The volunteers – from the Advocacy Project at Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service – will ask the public and hospital staff to sign up to the campaign.
