School hon­ours past pupil’s me­mory

A MO­SAIC cre­ated as a trib­ute to the ca­reer of a for­mer Oun­dle School pupil has been un­veiled. Ge­orge Jack­son, who left he school in 1947, went on to have a dis­tin­guished ca­reer that in­volved de­sign­ing the Chan­nel Tun­nel. The mo­saic is a 24ft de­sign that aims to cel­e­brate sci­ence from en­gi­neer­ing to medicine. It was com­mis­sioned by skilled artist Adrian Fisher and was un­veiled on Satur­day at the school, where it will re­side in the SciTec build­ing. Adrian did the work on be­half of Ge­orge’s sons Ni­cholas, Ti­mothy and Ben­jamin and his grand­chil­dren Philip, Theo and Eve­lyn, who are all alumni of the school.
