School honours past pupil’s memory
A MOSAIC created as a tribute to the career of a former Oundle School pupil has been unveiled. George Jackson, who left he school in 1947, went on to have a distinguished career that involved designing the Channel Tunnel. The mosaic is a 24ft design that aims to celebrate science from engineering to medicine. It was commissioned by skilled artist Adrian Fisher and was unveiled on Saturday at the school, where it will reside in the SciTec building. Adrian did the work on behalf of George’s sons Nicholas, Timothy and Benjamin and his grandchildren Philip, Theo and Evelyn, who are all alumni of the school.
