Mystery aircraft fly over city centre

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

AN unusual sight was spotted in the sky over Peterborough as four mystery flew low over the city centre.

Shoppers stopped to stare up at the four aircraft and were deafened by the noise of engines as the planes passed overhead.

Local aircraft enthusiasts say they believe two of the planes were Dominie aircraft and the other two were King Air B200 planes.

The only RAF base which currently operates such aircraft is RAF Cranwell, in Lincolnshire, where Nos 55 (R) and 45 (R) squadrons use them as part of the training aircraft fleet.

contacted the RAF base yesterday, but nobody was available to comment on whether exercises were being carried out or what the four planes were doing flying over the city.

FORMATION: The aircraft flying in formation over the city centre yesterday lunchtime. (METP-24-06-10RH121)
